The Studio
A small studio in Markham,since 2009.
Elevating homes with timeless light control.
We are not a showroom, and we are not a franchise. We are the people who come to your house, measure your windows, and come back to install what we made for them.
SkyLight has been fitting window coverings across the Greater Toronto Area since 2009 — shutters, roller shades, zebra blinds, honeycombs and motorised systems, in houses and condominiums alike. The work is the same either way: understand how the room is used, measure it properly, and finish it so it looks like it was always there.
Because the studio measures and installs its own work, there is nobody to pass the blame to. That is the whole reason we keep it small.
How we work
Consultation
60–90 minutes · in your home
We come to you, with samples, at the hour the light is worst. We ask how each room is actually used before we suggest anything.
Measurement
Same visit · to the millimetre
Every opening measured at three heights and three widths. Old houses are never square, and we would rather know that now than on installation day.
Custom Fabrication
2–4 weeks · made to order
Nothing is cut to a standard size. Your fabric, your hardware, your openings — built to those numbers and no others.
Installation
Half a day · never subcontracted
The people who measured are the people who install. We level, we test, we set up the app, and we take the packaging away with us.
What you can hold us to
Measured by the people who install
No subcontractors. The studio measures, fabricates and installs — so there is nobody to blame but us, and nothing gets lost between trades.
Made to your openings
Every covering is cut to order. We do not stock standard sizes because windows are not standard sizes.
Warranty that means it
4 years on manual coverings, 2 years on motorised systems, studio-backed. One phone number, no call centre.
Licensed and insured
Working across the Greater Toronto Area since 2009. Fully licensed, fully insured, and happy to show you both.
